Maintenance and Restoration of Cultural Heritage

    According to marble maintenance and restoration principles of traditional preserved buildings, monuments, temples etc., the following procedure is implemented:

  • Full photographic and architectural documentation
  • A brief report of the damages and failures of each section of restoration and the strategy for their correction.
  • Experimental applications of mechanical cleaning
  • Experimental application of chemicals to remove soot and corrosion (black crust, reddish brown areas).
  • Application of controlled high pressure water jets.
  • Refinishing and applying clear varnish, in order to preserve the conserved surface.
  • Recording work progress, photographic documentation and CD-ROM delivery after the end of the work.
